Basketball Recap: Chesapeake Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Kendall Kotofski and Kiery Matkins

Chesapeake was the 49-41 winner over Glen Burnie when they last played one another back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Chesapeake Cougars fell 53-44 to the Glen Burnie Gophers on Thursday.

Chesapeake's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Kiery Matkins, who posted 14 points in addition to five boards and three steals, and Kendall Kotofski, who scored eight points along with eight assists and eight rebounds. The dominant performance gave Kotofski a new career-high in assists. Emily Brandts was another key player, putting up five points.

Chesapeake dropped their record down to 15-7 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Glen Burnie, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-14.

Chesapeake does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Glen Burnie has already played their next contest (against Thomas Stone), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
