Recap: Hazen Highlanders vs. Lake Washington Kangaroos
After flying high against the Interlake Saints last Friday, the Hazen Highlanders came back down to earth. Hazen was beaten by Lake Washington 81-48 on Wednesday. Hazen has not had much luck with Lake Washington recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Hazen's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mia McCarthy, who scored 17 points. Dakota Nap was another key contributor, scoring five points along with six steals and five rebounds.
Hazen has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-10 record this season. As for Lake Washington, the victory was the 11th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-3.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Bellevue the next time they take the court. Hazen will host Bellevue at 7:15 p.m. on Friday, while Lake Washington will head out to face them at 7:15 p.m. on Saturday.
