Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask River Islands). They breezed by the Millennium Falcons to the tune of 78-47 on Monday. The Riptide pushed the score to 65-38 by the end of the third, a deficit the Falcons had little chance of recovering from.

River Islands' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Charles Mapanao, who went 8 of 15 en route to 21 points and five rebounds. Idrees ElFarra was another key player, going 7 for 13 on his way to 15 points and three steals.

River Islands was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Millennium only posted seven assists.

Defeat or not, Millennium got some senior leadership from Andre Saldate and Kala Bragg. Saldate went 6 of 13 en route to 16 points and six boards, while Bragg posted eight points and three steals. Shawn Saldate also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.

River Islands now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Millennium, they are on a 14-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-17.

River Islands will head out to square off against Aspire Langston Hughes Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
