Baseball Game Preview: Astoria Fishermen vs. Seaside Seagulls

For the second straight game, Astoria will face off against Seaside. The Fishermen will head out on the road to face off against the Seagulls at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Astoria has given up an average of 7.3 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Astoria fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Seaside on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They came up short against the Seagulls, falling 12-4. The Fishermen just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

Colt Kelly was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with one run. Another player making a difference was Archer Hawkins, who went 1-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Seaside's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-11. As for Astoria, their loss dropped their record down to 5-13.
