Recap: South Eugene Axe vs. Crater Comets
The South Eugene Axe's's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight loss. They took a 35-26 hit to the loss column at the hands of Crater. South Eugene has struggled against Crater recently, as their game on Friday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Valentin Rodriguez was his usual excellent self, rushing for 345 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 8.4 yards per carry. Rodriguez was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 50 yards.
South Eugene's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Crater, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 4-5 record this season.
South Eugene does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Crater will head out on the road to face off against Wilsonville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Wilsonville knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past five matches -- so hopefully Crater likes a good challenge.
