Softball Recap: Vidor Comes Up Short

After flying high against Tarkington last Friday, Vidor came back down to earth. The Vidor Pirates fell just short of the Bridge City Cardinals by a score of 2-1 on Tuesday. The defeat continues a trend for the Pirates in their meetings with the Cardinals: they've now lost three in a row.

Vidor's loss dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Bridge City, they now have a winning record of 8-7-1.

Looking ahead, Vidor will be playing at home against Little Cypress-Mauriceville at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Little Cypress-Mauriceville's pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so Vidor's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Bridge City, they are taking a road trip to take on Lumberton at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The last three games Bridge City has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
