Baseball Recap: Pocono Mountain West Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Pocono Mountain West came into Tuesday's matchup having lost 14 straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the East Stroudsburg North Timberwolves 4-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Panthers have posted since April 20, 2024.

Owen Kliesh made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out eight batters over six innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Kliesh wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Jayden Espinoza, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. That triple marked the first that Espinoza has hit this season.

Pocono Mountain West's win bumped their record up to 3-16. As for East Stroudsburg North, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-17.

Pocono Mountain West will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Timberwolves: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
