Basketball Recap: Zy Alhuzaifi and Myriah Harrison Secure Win for Canterbury

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Canterbury). They walked away with a 62-55 victory over the Lakeside Christian Lions on Thursday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Crusaders also won the last time the pair played back in January.

Leading Canterbury to victory were Myriah Harrison and Zy Alhuzaifi. Harrison went 14 for 29 on her way to 39 points and seven steals, while Alhuzaifi dropped a double-double on 22 points and 15 rebounds. Alhuzaifi is crushing it when it comes to boards: she's pulled down at least nine every time she's taken the court this season.

When it comes to explaining why Lakeside Christian lost, don't look at Mauricia Climes. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 20 points and 15 boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Marli Chase, who posted 12 points and six steals.

The win got Canterbury back to even at 2-2. As for Lakeside Christian, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 0-4.

Canterbury and Southeast will compete for holiday cheer at 6:00 p.m. on December 20th. As for Lakeside Christian, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 44-35 victory against Brooks DeBartolo Collegiate on the 16th.
