Basketball Recap: West Carroll Takes a Loss

West Carroll lost against Galena back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The West Carroll Thunder were outmatched by the Galena Pirates and fell 53-21. While losing is never fun, the Thunder can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 601st, while the Pirates are ranked 206th).

West Carroll dropped their record down to 4-11 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Galena, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-7.

West Carroll didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 65-22 defeat against River Ridge/Scales Mound on the 16th. Galena has also already played their next matchup, a 50-40 loss against Kaneland on the 18th.
