Volleyball Recap: Roosevelt Rough Riders vs. Lincoln Tigers
There's no place like home for Roosevelt, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Monday. They came out on top against the Lincoln Tigers by a score of 3-1 on Wednesday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Rough Riders also won the last time the pair played back in August of 2023.
Roosevelt was staring down a 1-0 deficit headed into the second set, but they rallied to take the next three for the win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 19-25, 25-12, 25-22, 25-15.
Roosevelt can attribute much of their success to Dalia Sanchez, who had seven aces and four digs. The team also got some help courtesy of Akeelah Percy, who had ten kills and two blocks.
Roosevelt's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Lincoln, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.
Roosevelt didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-1 victory vs. Legacy on the 12th. As for Lincoln, they will take on Marshall at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The last four games Marshall has played have been within one set, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
