Volleyball Recap: Brennan Bears vs. Smithson Valley Rangers

Brennan was the 3-2 winner over Smithson Valley when they last played one another on Tuesday, but their luck changed this time around. The Bears fell just short of the Rangers by a score of 2-1 on Saturday.

Kayla Rodriguez paced Brennan's offense, picking up 18 kills. Rodriguez got some help from Rubie Mares and her 15 assists. Aviana Contreras controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Smithson Valley had a senior duo take command as Sophia Fuentes had 15 assists and eight digs and Dani Mendez had 13 assists and five digs.

Brennan's defeat dropped their record down to 5-2. As for Smithson Valley, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.

Brennan wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-2 win against Sotomayor on the 19th. As for Smithson Valley, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-2 victory against Veterans Memorial on the 19th.
