Pendleton dropped down to 5-4 on Friday, ending the team's four-game streak of wins. They were beaten by the Belton-Honea Path Bears 52-22. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 120th, while the Bears are ranked 26th).

As for Belton-Honea Path, the win keeps them at an undefeated 9-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 10.4 points on average this season.

Belton-Honea Path got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Noah Thomas out in front who threw for 242 yards and five TDs while completing 73.9% of his passes, and also rushed for 97 yards and one touchdown. Thomas got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 84 yards. Belton-Honea Path's leading receiver Tajeh Watson-Martin was Thomas' top target yet again, picking up 215 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

Pendleton has already played their next game, a 28-21 defeat against Crescent on the 31st. As for Belton-Honea Path, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 62-7 victory against Walhalla on the 31st.
