Lightridge put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They were the clear victors by a 12-1 margin over the John Champe Knights. Considering the Bolts have won three matches by more than seven runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Karissa Bowes tossed a big game, striking out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits (and not a single walk). Those six strikeouts gave her a new career-high.
On the hitting side, Lightridge got a big performance out of Larissa Azurin, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3. That's the most runs Azurin has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Emmi Harris, who scored a run while going 3-for-4.
Lightridge kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive games.
Lightridge pushed their record up to 8-0 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games.
