Fort Chiswell came tearing into Thursday's matchup with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17.6 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the Grayson County Blue Devils with a sharp 11-1 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 6-3 back in March.

Fort Chiswell pushed their record up to 10-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.2 runs over those games. As for Grayson County, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 8-5.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Fort Chiswell is set to face off against their familiar foe Auburn at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Pioneers 2.5, the Eagles 2.9) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Grayson County will square off against rival Galax at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
