Basketball Recap: Nenah Brown's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Rancho Solano Prep over Horizon Honors

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Rancho Solano Prep can now relate to. They fell to the Horizon Honors Eagles 58-52. The Mustangs were not able to make up for their loss to the Eagles from their previous meeting back in November of 2023.

Rancho Solano Prep's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Nenah Brown, who went 6-for-12 on her way to 17 points and five rebounds. Brown is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as she's posted one of at least 50% in the last four games she's played. Alexandra Mushahwar was another key player, putting up 15 points and eight boards.

Horizon Honors' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Audriana Anglada led the charge by scoring 14 points in addition to eight rebounds and five assists. That's the most assists Anglada has posted since back in November of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Alicia Londono, who went 6-for-9 en route to 18 points.

Rancho Solano Prep has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 14-11 record this season. As for Horizon Honors, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-11.

Rancho Solano Prep does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Horizon Honors has already played their next matchup (against Pima), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
