Iota came tearing into Monday's contest with eight straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13.1 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-5 win over the Eunice Bobcats. That's more bragging rights for the Bulldogs, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Iota pushed their record up to 21-9 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Eunice, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 19-12 record this season.
