Bear Creek is 0-3 against Chaparral since May of 2021 but things could change on Saturday. The Bears will look to defend their home field against the Wolverines at 11:00 a.m. Bear Creek will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
While Bear Creek didn't have the best season last year (they finished 8-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They came out on top against Loveland by a score of 6-2 on Saturday.

Brandon Adams-Anders made a big impact no matter where he played. He struck out eight batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Logan Cortez was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Ethan Huntley was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.
Bear Creek always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .541. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Loveland only posted an OBP of .276.
Meanwhile, Chaparral posted their closest win since April 21, 2025 on Tuesday. They skirted past Fairview 4-2.
Like Bear Creek, Chaparral also got a great game from a two-way player: Beckett Bacon. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out ten over 6.1 innings pitched. Those ten strikeouts gave Bacon a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Carter Adams, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Those two hits gave him a new career-high.
Bear Creek's victory bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Chaparral, their win bumped their record up to 7-4.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Saturday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Bear Creek has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9.1 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Chaparral struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.2 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Bear Creek couldn't quite finish off Chaparral when the teams last played back in April of 2025 and fell 5-3. Will the Bears have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
