Volleyball Recap: Merced Continues Home Dominance on Monday

Merced had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Enochs Eagles. This was payback for the Bears, who suffered a 3-1 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Merced was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 23-25, 16-25, 25-16, 15-11.

Merced pushed their record up to 6-3 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. As for Enochs, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Merced is packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game this season: they will challenge McNair at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The last three games Merced has played have been within one set, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Enochs, they will head out to square off against Golden Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
