Softball Recap: Newark Comes Up Short

Newark fell victim to Licking Heights and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They lost 10-0 to the Hornets. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hornets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-2 on Saturday.

Newark has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-9 record this season. As for Licking Heights, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Newark will face off against Reynoldsburg at 5:15 p.m. on Monday. The Wildcats are facing the Raiders at the right time seeing as the Raiders are stuck on an 11-game losing streak. As for Licking Heights, they will challenge Watkins Memorial at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
