Softball Game Preview: Conway Tigers vs. Latta Vikings

The Conway Tigers will head out to square off against the Latta Vikings at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Conway will be coming into the match with an undefeated record on the line.

Conway is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of South Carolina's top teams: North Myrtle Beach, who was ranked seventh at the time (Conway was ranked third). Conway walked away with a 4-1 victory over North Myrtle Beach on Monday. The four-run effort marked the Tigers' lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Benton Causey made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 13 over seven innings pitched. Causey was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. That stolen base marked the first that she snagged this season.

Causey wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Brandy Smith, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, Latta had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They put the hurt on Atlantic Collegiate Academy with a sharp 6-0 win.

Conway's record is now 5-0. As for Latta, their record now sits at 1-0.
