Softball Recap: Silverton Foxes vs. La Salle Falcons
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Sunset, Silverton was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They came out on top against the La Salle Falcons by a score of 9-5.

Mckenzee Petersen made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits (and not a single walk). That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in May of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 4-for-4.
In other batting news, Hannah Houts was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. What's more, she posted two doubles, the most she's had since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Madalynn Ehrens, who scored three runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
Silverton was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .406. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Silverton now has a winning record of 5-4. As for La Salle, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 4-4.
Looking ahead, Silverton is taking a road trip to face off against Corvallis at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for La Salle, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against McNary at 4:00 p.m.
