Baseball Recap: Mission Hills Falls Short of Coronado in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Mission Hills can now relate to. They fell 3-0 to the Coronado Islanders on Wednesday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Grizzlies of the 4-3 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2023.

Mission Hills has also been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-18 record this season. As for Coronado, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 21-8.

Looking ahead, Mission Hills will head out on the road to square off against Southwest EC at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles' pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so the Grizzlies' hitters will have their work cut out for them. Coronado does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
