Softball Recap: Warren Comes Up Short

Warren was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-4 heartbreaker at the hands of the Joshua Owls.

Warren got a good showing from Avery Sauceda, who tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. The dominant performance also gave Sauceda a new career-high in strikeouts (three).

At the plate, Jenna Bonilla was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2. She also stolen a stolen base, marking her first of the season. Aubrey Garcia was another key player, going a perfect3-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Warren's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Joshua, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Looking ahead, Warren will square off against New Braunfels at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Joshua, they will face off against Richland at 11:00 a.m. on Friday.
