Football Recap: Chardon's Loss Ends Four-Game Winning Streak at Home

Chardon dropped to 3-3 on Friday, ending the team's four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season. They fell 38-26 to the Riverside Beavers. The Hilltoppers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Beavers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

As for Riverside, their record is now 4-2. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Leading Riverside to victory were Kyndall McCaleb and Bo Brandehoff. McCaleb gained 262 total yards, while Brandehoff rushed for 79 yards on only six carries. McCaleb's longest rush was for an impressive 65 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.

Chardon and Riverside should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings. The Hilltoppers will challenge North at 7:00 p.m. on Friday with a big rank advantage (124 vs. 302). Meanwhile, Riverside (ranked 84th) will meet Mayfield (ranked 241st) at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
