Basketball Recap: San Marcos Piles Up the Points Against Del Norte

A well-balanced attack led San Marcos over Del Norte in every quarter on their way to victory on Tuesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the San Marcos Knights blew the Del Norte Nighthawks out of the water with a 74-47 final score. The Knights have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 21 points or more this season.

Leading San Marcos to victory were Jalen Williams and Richie Ramirez. Williams went 9 for 11 on his way to 21 points in addition to six boards and three steals, while Ramirez posted 18 points along with seven rebounds and five assists. The contest was Williams' third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Elias Flaim, who went 5 of 10 en route to 11 points.

San Marcos' win bumped their record up to 16-3. As for Del Norte, they moved to 8-11 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

San Marcos will square off against Mt. Carmel at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. San Marcos has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Del Norte, they will face off against Westview at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
