Baseball Recap: Slippery Rock Beats Conneaut Area for Their Seventh Straight Win

Slippery Rock put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against the Conneaut Area Eagles by a score of 5-1. This was payback for the Rockets, who suffered an 11-1 loss the last time these two teams met.

Slippery Rock let Connor Zorn and Parker Dalcamo run wild. Zorn went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI and one double, while Dalcamo went 2-for-4 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI. Those two doubles gave Dalcamo a new career-high. Isaac McCandless also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Slippery Rock pushed their record up to 7-0 with the victory, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.0 runs over those games. As for Conneaut Area, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4.

Coincidentally, Slippery Rock and Conneaut Area will both be playing Fairview the next time they take the field. The Rockets will head out to face the Tigers at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, while the Eagles will head out to face them at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
