Football Game Preview: Bishop Kelley Comets vs. McAlester Buffaloes + Official Tickets

The Bishop Kelley Comets will face off against the McAlester Buffaloes at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

On Thursday, Bishop Kelley was beaten by Booker T. Washington 42-14. The Comets have struggled against the Hornets recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask McAlester). They took their contest on Friday with ease, bagging a 55-6 win over East Central. The victory continues a trend for the Buffaloes in their matchups with the Cardinals: they've now won eight in a row.

Bishop Kelley better keep an eye on Jordan Clark. He was instrumental in McAlester's win, rushing for 135 yards and two TDs on only nine carries. That's the most rushing yards Clark has posted since back in November of 2024. Brody Parker was another key player, throwing for 198 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only nine passes.

McAlester was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 207 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

McAlester didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Clark and Brandon Smith. Clark also rushed for 135 rushing yards, which is notable because McAlester is 2-1 when he posts at least 100 rushing yards, but 0-3 otherwise.

Bishop Kelley's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for McAlester, they picked up their first home win, bumping their record up to 2-4.

Bishop Kelley came up short against McAlester in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, falling 29-21. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Clark, who rushed for 98 yards and two scores, and also picked up 44 receiving yards. Now that the Comets know the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
