Softball Recap: Godwin's Undefeated Season over After 22 Games

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Godwin couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell just short of the Midlothian Trojans by a score of 2-1 on Friday. The loss was the Eagles' first of the season.

Katelyn Hubley spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on seven hits and racked up 15 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than 12 strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Godwin saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Adelynn Collins, who went 1-for-3 with one run.

Having lost for the first time this season, Godwin fell to 21-1. As for Midlothian, the win keeps they at an undefeated 21-0.

As of now, neither Godwin nor the Trojans have any future games scheduled.
