Baseball Game Preview: Hawkins Hawks vs. Crenshaw Cougars

Hawkins hasn't had much luck against Crenshaw recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Hawks will be playing at home against the Cougars at 3:00 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Wednesday, Hawkins was able to grind out a solid victory over George Washington Prep, taking the game 8-5.

Meanwhile, Crenshaw had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it seven on Wednesday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Knights a 1-0 shutout.

Crenshaw pushed their record up to 7-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Hawkins, their win bumped their record up to 4-7.
