Recap: Glenwood Springs Demons vs. Eagle Valley Devils
The Glenwood Springs Demons were the 20-6 winner over the Eagle Valley Devils when they last played one another back in October of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Glenwood Springs fell just short of Eagle Valley by a score of 19-16.
Glenwood Springs' loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Joaquin Sandoval, who rushed for 31 yards and a touchdown, and Jerick Sorensen who picked up 51 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Eagle Valley was led to victory by Caiven Lake and Elias Pena. Lake threw for 130 yards and a touchdown, while Pena rushed for 75 yards and a touchdown on only nine carries. Kevin Hasley got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Glenwood Springs has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season. As for Eagle Valley, their win bumped their record up to 3-6.
Glenwood Springs will look to defend their home field on Friday against Palisade at 7:00 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Colorado (Palisade is ranked 104th, while Glenwood Springs is ranked 92nd). As for Eagle Valley, they will head out on the road to face off against Summit at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Summit is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
