Baseball Recap: Celeste Comes Up Short

After soaring to 14 runs the game before, Celeste was a bit more limited in their matchup on Thursday. They fell just short of the Commerce Tigers by a score of 2-1. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Blue Devils of the 9-4 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2019.

Celeste's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Commerce, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Coincidentally, Celeste and Commerce will both be playing Newton the next time they take the field. The Blue Devils will head out to face the Eagles at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, while the Tigers will play them later in the day, at 5:00 p.m.
