Baseball Game Preview: Patriot Warriors vs. JW North Huskies

The Patriot Warriors will head out to square off against the JW North Huskies at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Patriot is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.

Patriot is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They fell just short of Colony by a score of 11-10 on Tuesday.

Dustin Thayer was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while going 4-for-5. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in hits. Noah Leon also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Even though they lost, Patriot always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .537. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, JW North came into Wednesday's matchup having lost seven straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They skirted past Grand Terrace 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Huskies have posted since April 15, 2024.

Thomas Salter tossed a big game, pitching five innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits.

Patriot now has a losing record of 3-4. As for JW North, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.

Patriot skirted past JW North 2-0 when the teams last played back in March of 2023. Will Patriot repeat their success, or does JW North have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
