Baseball Preview: Otis Bulldogs vs. Briggsdale Falcons        
        
		
            
 Otis is 10-0 against Briggsdale since April of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success  on Friday. The Otis Bulldogs will be playing at home against the Briggsdale Falcons at 1:00  p.m. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
 On Thursday, Otis narrowly escaped with a  victory as the  team sidled past Stratton  7-6. The  win made it back-to-back  victories for Otis.
  Carter Wells was a standout: he scored two  runs and  stole a base while going 1-for-3. Another player making a difference was  Austin Hornung, who  went 2-for-4 with two  doubles, a  stolen base,  and two  RBI.
 Meanwhile,  even though Front Range Baptist scored an imposing 11 runs on Tuesday, Briggsdale still came out on top. Briggsdale came out on top in a nail-biter against Front Range Baptist  and snuck past  12-11. The  win was just what Briggsdale needed coming off of  a  15-5 defeat in their prior  match.
  Tanner Fiscus made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He  struck out 12 batters over  5.1 innings while giving up  five earned  (and four unearned) runs off   nine  hits. Fiscus has been consistent recently: he hasn't  tossed less than five  strikeouts every time he's  pitched this season. Fiscus was also stellar in the batter's box,  scoring three  runs and  stealing three bases while  getting on base  in four of his five plate appearances.
 In other batting news, Briggsdale let  Cash Haun and  Taryan Radke loose on the outfield. Haun  went 3-for-3 with two  stolen bases, five  RBI,  and a  run, while  Radke  scored four  runs and  stole four bases while going 2-for-3.  Gentry Johnson was another key contributor,  scoring a  run and  stealing two bases while  getting on base  in three of his four plate appearances.
 Otis' victory bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Briggsdale, their  win (their first of the  season) made their record 1-2.
 The batters for both teams will have to hit smart  on Friday as both teams have some strikeout artists on the roster. Otis has been retiring batters left and right this season,  having  averaged 9.6  strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Briggsdale struggles in that department as   they've been averaging 7.7. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
 Otis took their  victory against Briggsdale  when the teams last played  back in March of 2023 by a conclusive  18-4. Will Otis repeat their success,  or does  Briggsdale have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
