La Villa is on a six-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while Agua Dulce is on a four-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. La Villa barely beat Ben Bolt the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Cardinals simply couldn't be stopped back in October as they easily beat the Badgers 62-6. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 41-6.
It was another big night for Isaiah Felix, who rushed for 76 yards on only nine carries, and also threw for 73 yards and one TD. Sean Seanz made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: La Villa was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 330 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 176 rushing yards in six consecutive matchups.
La Villa didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Austin Cantu and Seanz. La Villa got some further help from AJ Juarez: he picked up two sacks and made eight total tackles (4.0 for loss).
Meanwhile, Agua Dulce was fully in charge on Friday, breezing past Ben Bolt 50-22. The Longhorns pushed the score to 43-8 by the end of the third, a deficit the Badgers cut but never quite recovered from.
Agua Dulce had a senior duo take command as Aiden Martinez rushed for 194 yards and a pair of touchdowns while picking up 9.2 yards per carry and Lane Ranly threw for 192 yards and four TDs. Those four passing touchdowns set a new season-high mark for Ranly.
La Villa's victory bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Agua Dulce, their win bumped their record up to 7-2.
La Villa strolled past Agua Dulce in their previous meeting back in November of 2024 by a score of 38-22. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was the Longhorns' Bryan King, who rushed for 82 yards and a pair of scores on only nine carries. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will the Cardinals still be able to contain King? There's only one way to find out.
