Baseball Game Preview: Coolidge Colts vs. Dunbar Crimson Tide

Coolidge is 1-6 against Dunbar since April of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Colts are taking a road trip to challenge the Crimson Tide at 4:30 p.m. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

Coolidge proved they can win big on Monday (they won by six) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Phelps Architecture, Construction & Engineering 6-5. The win was nothing new for the Colts as they're now sitting on three straight.

The team relied heavily on Isaac Sanders, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with three stolen bases and one run. He has been hot for a while, having posted at least one stolen base the last nine times he's played. Anderson Corrales-Rivas also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen bases of the season.

Meanwhile, Dunbar posted their closest victory since April 1, 2024 on Monday. They skirted past McKinley Tech 5-3. The win continues a trend for the Crimson Tide in their matchups with the Trainers: they've now won six in a row.

Coolidge's record is now 3-10. As for Dunbar, the victory was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 2-3.

Coolidge might still be hurting after the 16-0 loss they got from Dunbar in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Colts avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
