Recap: Pathways Eagles vs. Nazaret Christian Academy Lions
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Downey Christian, the Pathways Eagles were happy to have found some success on Thursday. They enjoyed a cozy 52-34 victory over Nazaret Christian Academy. Given Pathways' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 206th, while Nazaret Christian Academy is ranked 506th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Pathways to victory, but perhaps none more so than Steven Edwards, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Branden Southall was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Pathways has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 21-5 record this season. As for Nazaret Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-12.
Pathways didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 70-49 win vs. Varsity Opponent on the 9th. Nazaret Christian Academy will be playing in front of their home fans against Hope Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Hope Academy has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 576 points over their last eight matches.
