Softball Game Preview: Allentown Central Catholic Vikings vs. Easton Area Rovers

Allentown Central Catholic is 0-5 against Easton Area since April of 2015 but things could change on Thursday. The Allentown Central Catholic Vikings will be playing in front of their home fans against the Easton Area Rovers at 4:00 p.m. Allentown Central Catholic has given up an average of 11.5 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.

Allentown Central Catholic is headed into Thursday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Wednesday. They lost 14-5 to Southern Lehigh.

Angelina Bernardi 2026 was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Eloise Brown was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, Easton Area unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They fell 9-5 to Northampton on Tuesday.

Thalia Burns made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in four of her five plate appearances with two doubles and two RBI. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Faith Zimmerman, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.

Allentown Central Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Easton Area, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.

Allentown Central Catholic might still be hurting after the 9-3 loss they got from Easton Area in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can Allentown Central Catholic avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
