Baseball Game Preview: Rayne Wolves vs. Breaux Bridge Tigers

The Rayne Wolves will face off against the Breaux Bridge Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Rayne is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.5 runs per game this season.

Saturday just wasn't the day for Rayne's offense. They came up short against Episcopal on Saturday, falling 6-0. Having soared to a lofty 19 runs in the game before, the Wolves' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Rayne saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lon Paul Moody, who went 1-for-4 with one double.

Fans were treated to a Battle of the Tigers on Saturday. Breaux Bridge walked away with a 6-1 win over Hanson Memorial. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Breaux Bridge.

Breaux Bridge pushed their record up to 2-0-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs over those games. As for Rayne, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.

Rayne skirted past Breaux Bridge 2-0 in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. Does Rayne have another victory up their sleeve, or will Breaux Bridge turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
