Baseball Recap: Broomfield Extends Winning Streak to Six

Broomfield entered their tilt with Niwot on Thursday with five consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with six. They blew past the Cougars 14-5. Considering the Eagles have won ten matches by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Jameson Clegg looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Broomfield got a big performance out of Caden Williamson, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Garet Vail also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Broomfield pushed their record up to 14-3 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Niwot, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 12 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Broomfield will venture away from home to square off against Fairview at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Niwot, they will head out to face off against Holy Family at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
