Baseball Recap: Archbishop Riordan Comes Up Short

Archbishop Riordan was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They lost 11-0 to the St. Ignatius College Preparatory Wildcats. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 4-0 last Tuesday.

Archbishop Riordan saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Chase Oliver, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base. Diego Aguilar-Montenegro also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Archbishop Riordan's defeat dropped their record down to 4-8-1. As for St. Ignatius College Preparatory, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-2-2.

Archbishop Riordan wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 4-2 loss against Sequoia on the 29th. As for St. Ignatius College Preparatory, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 10-0 win against Archbishop Mitty on the 1st.
