Softball Recap: Madera South Sets Scoring Season-High Against San Joaquin Memorial

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Madera South). They were the clear victors by a 20-2 margin over the San Joaquin Memorial Panthers on Friday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 17-2 on Wednesday.

Anilee Larios was excellent, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Allie Cervantes, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

Madera South always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .875. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive matchups.

Madera South's victory ended a seven-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-19. As for San Joaquin Memorial, they are on a 27-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-13.

Madera South has already played their next game, a 16-5 defeat against Torres on the 6th. As for San Joaquin Memorial, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 23-5 loss against Hoover on the 6th.
