It's playoff time, and Apex Friendship had no trouble coming through when it counted. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-4 victory over the Clayton Comets on Friday. The win was familiar territory for the Patriots, who have now won seven contests in a row.

Sydney Joyce spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up 11 Ks.

On the hitting side, India Matute was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one double.

Apex Friendship pushed their record up to 19-3 with the victory, which was their tenth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.8 runs over those games. As for Clayton, their loss dropped their record down to 13-8.

Apex Friendship has already played their next match (against D.H. Conley), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Clayton does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
