Softball Recap: Middletown South's Undefeated Season over After Six Games

Middletown South fell victim to Marlboro and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They lost 8-0 to the Mustangs. The loss continues a trend for the Eagles in their meetings with the Mustangs: they've now lost five in a row.

Having lost for the first time this season, Middletown South fell to 5-1. As for Marlboro, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Middletown South will host Shore Regional at 10:00 a.m. on Monday. As for Marlboro, they will welcome Freehold Boro at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Someone's luck will take a turn for the better: the Mustangs have lost four straight at home (dating back to last season), while the Colonials have lost three on the road.
