Illinois Valley Central is a perfect 4-0 against Princeville since March of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. Illinois Valley Central will head out on the road to face off against Princeville at 4:30 p.m. Princeville took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Illinois Valley Central, who comes in off a win.

On Monday, Illinois Valley Central got the win against Putnam County by a conclusive 13-1. Considering the Grey Ghosts have won three games by more than nine runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Caitlyn Gillette was incredible, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That triple marked the first that she hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Nora Connett, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, Princeville fell victim to Brimfield and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They lost 7-0 to the Indians. The defeat continues a trend for the Princes in their meetings with the Indians: they've now lost four in a row.

Illinois Valley Central is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. Princeville's loss dropped their record down to 2-4.

Princeville's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Illinois Valley Central has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10 hits per game. It's a different story for Princeville, though, as they've been averaging 10.3 hits. Given Illinois Valley Central's sizable advantage in that area, Princeville will need to find a way to close that gap.

Illinois Valley Central skirted past Princeville 8-6 in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Illinois Valley Central since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
