Volleyball Recap: Smith-Cotton Starts off Right with Win over Osage

Smith-Cotton took care of business in their home opener (barely) on Tuesday. They skirted past the Osage Indians 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Tigers have posted since October 1, 2024.

Smith-Cotton wouldn't go down easily and took Osage into a fifth set where they got it done with a five-point win. The final score came out to 25-15, 25-18, 20-25, 23-25, 15-10.

Piper Cantrell was the offensive standout of the contest as she had 18 digs. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 11 or more in each of the last 12 games she's played dating back to last season.

Smith-Cotton wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against Hillcrest on the 4th. As for Osage, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-1 win against Blair Oaks on the 4th.
