Basketball Recap: Mentor Christian Continues Home Dominance on Thursday

Mentor Christian lost to Medina Christian Academy back in January, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Thursday. Mentor Christian walked away with a 36-25 victory over the Medina Christian Academy Knights. The win made it back-to-back victories for Mentor Christian.

Despite the loss, Medina Christian Academy saw an underclassman step up: freshman Grace Workman posted 11 points. Ann Sems was another key player, putting up six points.

Mentor Christian pushed their record up to 8-4 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 21.7 points over those games. As for Medina Christian Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matchups, which has put a noticeable dent in their 10-10 record this season.

Mentor Christian will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Heritage Classical Academy at 4:30 p.m. on February 28th. As for Medina Christian Academy, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 62-17 defeat against Southern on the 15th.
