League recap: Deer Park stuns Colville in upset

The biggest upset of the week belonged to Deer Park, who took down 101st ranked Colville, 24-20.

East Valley was the team that made the biggest jump in the rankings, moving from fifth to third in 2A Great Northern. Earlier in the week, the Knights triumphed over Pullman 52-36.

Clarkston's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Cole Copeland threw for 206 and 1 touchdown and Ryan Adams had 94 yards receiving. On the ground Carson Holman contributed 137 yards. Jacob Dwyer helped Clarkston's passing attack out by catching 9 balls for 77 yards.

Mason Petrino was a passing and rushing force as the Greyhounds lost to East Valley. He completed 15 passes for 179 yards and 1 touchdown and also ran for 94 yards. Petrino's favorite target this week was David Ungerer, who caught 6 passes for 63 yards.

Connor Eggleston was a key player and the best on defense this week as the Bantams lost to Sandpoint. The 6-foot-1 senior racked up 1 sack.

Copeland put up the best numbers in passing as Clarkston lost to the Bulldogs. Copeland's favorite target this week was Adams, who caught 3 passes for 94 yards.

Thanks to the talents of Petrino and Ungerer, Pullman has been able to do all sorts of things on offense. Petrino is tops in the league in passing with 1,251 yards, while Ungerer has rushed for 923 yards this season. Tops in the league in receiving yards is Dave Curtis' team's Adams, with 755 yards on 37 catches.

Dan Lucier's team's Ungerer is a mere 77 yards away from breaking the 1,000-rushing-yards mark for the season. In 134 carries Ungerer has put up 923 yards this year.

The Indians are currently in fourth, while Cheney is in first.

The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Colville takes on the Blackhawks. Randy Cornwell's team has allowed 134 points this season, while Cheney has given up 120.

The Bantams lost to Sandpoint 47-29 last week, the largest margin of any game. Copeland was a bright spot for Clarkston, as he in the loss.
