Baseball Recap: Montgomery's Luck Changes for the Better on Friday

There's no place like home for Montgomery, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They won by a run and slipped past the Eastlake Titans 2-1. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Aztecs as it put an end to their five-game losing streak.

Erick Ramos spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on six hits. He is becoming a predictor of Montgomery's success: when he allows at most three earned runs the team is 4-2 (and 4-11 when he doesn't).

At the plate, Montgomery saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was AJ Ruvalcaba, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Montgomery's victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 8-13. As for Eastlake, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-8-1.

Montgomery wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 3-0 loss against San Ysidro on the 7th. As for Eastlake, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 5-0 win against Bonita Vista on the 7th.
