Sedgwick dropped down to 16-5 on Thursday, ending the team's four-game streak of wins. They came up short against the Hillsboro Trojans, falling 3-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Cardinals of the 2-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2023.

Despite the loss, Sedgwick saw an underclassman step up: freshman Briella Steventon had 17 digs and four assists.

As for Hillsboro, they pushed their record up to 13-4 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. That three set margin sets a new team best for them this season.

Leading Hillsboro to victory were Amyah Werth and Ella Potucek. Werth had 18 digs and two assists, while Potucek had ten assists and eight digs. Werth has been hot recently, having posted 14 or more digs the last three times she's played.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sedgwick will challenge Sterling at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hillsboro, they will take on Halstead at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
