Baseball Recap: Lincoln Triumphs

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Independence, Lincoln was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They skirted past the Preston Knights 3-1. The win continues a trend for the Cougars in their matchups with the Knights: they've now won three in a row.

AJ Bart spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up 12 Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Lincoln saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alex Greene, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

Lincoln's victory bumped their record up to 11-6-1. As for Preston, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lincoln will challenge East Fairmont at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Preston, they will square off against Notre Dame at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
